ELECTRIC racing is set to hit Hengelo next month as the Superbike Twente squad reveals their bid for the opening round of the IRRC series.
Championship regular Ilja Calouw will pilot the team’s Liion-GP machine at the Varsselring as the six-event road racing series roars into life.
Caljouw is no stranger to the IRRC, having competed for the last few seasons in the Supersport class and now as part of Performance Racing Team Achterhoek.
But the Dutchman has already made steps towards his electric racing debut after testing the Twente bike at Assen this weekend, and now looks to next month’s Hengelo scrap on 11 and 12 May, just under a fornight ahead of the team plans to unveil its brand new electric superbike.
