LIGHTNING Motorcycles has finally drawn the curtains back on its stunning new Strike model, with price and power on its side.
Boasting a liquid cooled AC induction motor capable of producing 90 horsepower and 180 lb-ft of torque in standard trim, the hopped-up Carbon Edition bumps numbers up even more with 120 horsepower and 180 lb-ft of torque.
Thanks to a full sportbike fairing, the Strike nearly 30% reduction in aerodynamic drag at 70 mph, the standard Strike has a top speed of 135 mph while the Carbon Edition pushes its top speed to 150 mph.
Three battery configurations from 10 to 20 kWh give the new bike a range topping out at 200 miles, which puts it on par with the best of the long-distance electric bikes on the market today.
The Strike has the capability of charging at Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3, with the latter giving more than 100 miles of range within 20 minutes.
Sporting Lightning’s Performance Package, which includes Öhlins front and rear suspension, Brembo Monoblock brakes and an AIM Strada racing dash with lap timer and GPS-based data logging, the Carbon Edition machines will be the first off the assembly line to be presented to customers.
Deliveries will begin in July 2019 – full specs below:
