DAY one leader Niki Tuuli has revealed he’s still looking for an additional piece to the puzzle, even after dominating FIM Enel MotoE practice at the Red Bull Ring today.
The Ajo Motorsport man, who won last time out at the Sachsenring and now leads the points, ended today’s FP2 session over 0.6sec clear of runner-up Mattia Casadei to take control in the run to FP3 and E-Pole tomorrow.
And with a strong setting already in place for the Spielberg circuit, Tuuli is confident about the rest of the weekend as he hunts another win.
“I feel good every time I go out on track with the MotoE bike,” the Finn admitted. “I think we have a competitive base setting for every circuit.
“Our plan is to be in the Top 3 in each session, and that is what we did both in the morning and in the afternoon.
“In FP2 we made some changes to the bike and we managed to improve our lap time by 6 tenths. I’m happy about that. Everything went as planned.
“Now we are going to try to find something extra for tomorrow. I’m looking forward to the E-Pole session.”
