NIKI Tuuli stamped his authority on the Red Bull Ring today after leading both FIM Enel MotoE practice sessions and ending the day over 0.6sec in the clear.
The news comes just hours after the Finn’s Energica machine caught fire while charging at the Spielberg circuit.

Mike Di Meglio led the Marc VDS charge in third, some 0.085sec further back, while Ongetta SIC58 Squadracorse’s Mattia Casadei finished the opening session fourth as the top quartet were covered by just 0.205sec.
Finnish rider Tuuli continued to lead in FP2 as he upped the pace with a 1:35.225 and left the field behind while Casadei took the runner-up spot some 0.620sec further back.
Smith ended the session in third a mere 0.001sec off Casadei as Tech 3 E-Racing’s Hector Garzo and Avintia Esponsorama man Xavier Simeon completed the top five.
Just 0.178sec off Casadei’s second-place FP2 time was Di Meglio with TRENTINO Gresini’s Matteo Ferrari and LCR E-Team’s Niccolo Canepa a little over 0.120sec further back.
