DORNA has announced a new race calendar for the inaugural FIM Enel MotoE World Cup as bosses continue to rebuild the series after the devastating Jerez fire.
The championship had been in doubt after a blaze destroyed the testing paddock and most teams’ gear, equipment and bikes, but even before initial investigations revealed the culprit to be a short circuit, series chiefs had vowed to push on.
This year’s inaugural campaign will now begin during the HJC Helmets Motorrad Grand Prix Deutschland at the Sachsenring in July before heading next door to Austria for a round at the Red Bull Ring.
A double-header then beckons at Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli, where the series was originally scheduled to come to a close for 2019, but instead it will now forge on to the Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Valencia in November, which will also feature a double-header as the MotoGP and MotoE championships come to a close at the same time.
