SPANISH scooter firm Silence has shot to the top of the charts as leader of electric vehicle registrations in Spain.
The Barcelona-based manufacturer raked in 1,944 registrations in the first half of 2019, eclipsing Nissan with 1,458 and Tesla with 1,221 to become the country’s front-runner in battery-powered transport.
Following its business-to-business success in 2018 which included partnerships with Correos, TelePizza, Domino’s and motosharing clients Acciona, Scoot and Mobility and even cooperation from police fleets such as the Madrid force, Silence is now looking to break Europe as it seeks a bigger footprint on the continent.
As well as a turnover of €14 million – which is expected to double at the end of this year – the firm has set focus on consumers in 2019. Company bosses are currently on the hunt for a distribution partner at the European level.
