GERMAN electric bike firm Sol Motors has announced a crowdfunding campaign in a bid to get its new Pocket Rocket to the streets.
The company’s battery-powered moped, which can reach speeds up to 50mph and travel up to 50 miles, is aimed at urban commuters and at just 120 lbs, bosses are hoping to get people in the saddle as soon as possible.
Sol Motors’ new machine features app connectivity for both Android and iOS, an easy charging using AC power supply with a removable battery, an aluminium frame/rims/fenders and an award-winning design.
But now, company executives are making a bid to assist their development efforts and get the Pocket Rockets into the hands of riders as they continue pushing forward with homologation and expansion.
“Our main motivation with our crowdfunding campaign is to get the first round of Pocket Rockets on the streets,” said a company spokesperson.
“All funds contributed will go to production, homologation/certification for other countries and further development costs for the Pocket Rockets, including accessories and new models.
“With the help of contributions we will be able to cover the costs of production, service, and certification in your home country to bring the Pocket Rocket as fast as we can.”
